Treks

Here i have some facinating locations in Maharashta. Go and explore..!

Lingana
Height: 3000 ft Difficulty Level : Hardest
Lingana is one of the top 3 ranked under toughest to conquer/climb. The pinnacle of Lingana had always been a matter of attraction in my imagination. One needs proffesionals help and proper equipment to climb this amazing form. Till today it is the most memorable trek of my life. Iam very much sure u will be amused after this amazing trek.
Lingana

Torna
Difficulty Level : Hard

This is also called Prachandagad (rightly named as it is very tough to climb). The village at the base of the fort is called “Velhe”. To the south of Torna is the river of Velvandi & to the north is the Valley of Kanad River. One can find a variety of flowers on the way to top as on top also. There are water falls starting from the top of fort.

Tikona
Height: 3580 ft Difficulty Level : Medium
My first ever trek is to Tikona fort(or Vitandgad), which is located in the region of Pauna Mawal and hidden just behind the very famous twin-forts Lohagad and Visapur. Best time to visit this fort is the monsoon. I went with my office collegues for monsoon picnic. This is such and amazing place, just i do not have words to put my first experience after seeing such an amazing ambient. It was a very pleasent day. Pawna dam/lake is also very close to it. From here one can see the Tung fort(Opposite bank of Pawna lake).
Tikona

Visapur

Height : 3038 ft Difficulty Level : Easy

The forts of Lohgad and Visapur have played an important role in guarding the ancient trade routes and being the savior of Bhaje and Bedse caves. It is a vey huge for with highly impregnable fortification. One can find a very large flat portion on the top of fort. There are two routes for this fort. One can climb against the traces of waterfall from Lohagad side, other route is from Pune-Mumbai highway (other side fort). The main feature of this fort is the strong fortification built on a large plateau.

Visapur

Tel-baila

It is the 2006 january's bonaza for me. It is a wonder of nature. This is the adventerous trek after the Lingana experience. One has to climg the rock patches with the help of ropes and ladders. We are aroung 90 people gone from Pune venturer's. One has to climb the right side hill and the reaching the other peak by rope and then rappelling.

Tel-baila

Lohagad

Height: 3400 ft Difficulty Level : Easy

It is rightly named Lohagad (made of metal/iron), also called as Iron fort. The most exciting feature of this fort is the way to the top. There is only one way to the top of fort. It is standing just before Visapur fort. This is one of the amazing form interms of fortwalls and construction.

Lohagad

Sinhagad

Height :4400 ft
It is in the vicinity of Pune city and approximately 20 Kms from the heart of the city. One can reach almost top of the fort by vehicle, one has to take the steps towards the peak. One can view amazing landscapes around the fort. First time I had a trek from Panshet with my colleagues. I will remember this trek for the rest of my life, because of the first time experience in dense mist and fog. One cannot see beyond 3-4 feet, because of heavy rains. It is almost nonstop rain during that two day camp on the top of hill. We played treasure hunt in the night.
I might have visited this fort 12 times if not 13 times in my 2 years life in Pune. This is such an amazing place. One has to take right turn after reaching the top, and complete one full round on the edge of the fort. On the way u will find Kalyana Darwaza (Place for rappelling), Tanazi point (This is the way from Panshet side).
